In the framework of the “Fireshield” project, financed by the European Union, IPA Crossborder program, Caritas South Albania, has provided a car, which will serve to implement awareness campaigns in remote rural areas with a focus on prevention and protection against fires and other activities foreseen in the project.
On 04.07.2022, the mayor of the Municipality of Bogovinje was present at the solemn opening of the Waterfalls of Kamenjane, an event organized by the association “Eco Kamjan”. In this event were present the president Mr. Stevo Pendarovski, the minister Mr. Naser Nuredini, director Mr. Ibrahim Dehari and the chairman of the LC of Kamenjane Mr. Mahir Rexhepi.
Mayor Emshiu said that he appreciates the commitment of everyone in the arrangement of the pedestrian path and the locations in the 8 waterfalls of Kamenjane as a natural asset that recently attract tourists from all over the country and beyond.
Municipality of Bogovinje will always be ready to support and invest in such initiatives that are related to the cultivation and care of nature, as well as the opportunity for the residents of the Municipality and all other citizens to enjoy the natural beauties of Mount Sharr.
On 01.07.2022, the mayor of the Municipality of Bogovinje, Besnik Emshiu, hosted senior representatives of the World Bank in a meeting: Varalakshmi Vemuru – practical manager for Sustainability and social inclusion for Europe and Central Asia, Roxanne Hakim – coordinator of the Western Balkans for Social sustainability and inclusion and Bekim Ymeri – senior specialist for Social development, office in North Macedonia.
In this meeting, they discussed social inclusion and the improvement of social services in the Municipality of Bogovinje, as well as investment opportunities in road and school infrastructure.
At the same time, the mayor Emshiu thanked the representatives of the World Bank for the many investments that have been made in the Municipality of Bogovinje by the World Bank.
After the meeting, a visit was also made to the municipal kindergarten, an investment financially supported by the World Bank, where they had the opportunity to see the spaces of the kindergarten, which will soon be in function and will be used by the children.
Yesterday, the Local Youth Council near the Municipality of Bogovinje held a workshop in the Bogovinje in the place called “Sports recreation center” within the “Local Initiative” project together with children from the primary schools of our Municipality, where we aimed to learn about recycling, the benefits of the mountain, nature and all the greenery.
Together with the children, we emphasized that we know about recycling and work in that direction, so we created some figures and objects with recycled plastic and paper.
The Local Youth Council works and will continue to contribute with children as well as in the protection of nature with all forms and mechanisms, but first with education of the future, which are CHILDREN.

On 30.06.2022, a session of the Council for planned development of the Pollog region was held in the spaces of the Municipality of Bogovina by CPDPR.
In this session, the second phase of the “Regional Plan for solid waste management” project was discussed.
